Donovan started out
as a waiter at FDR. He was then trained in Mandeville to become a
licensed fitness instructor. He loves teaching Taebo, Weight
training, Aquasize and Aerobics. He encourages his guests to step it
up to the next level. He is one of our most popular employees, as
guests love his energy and enthusiasm.

Oftentimes, you will
find Phyllis interacting with the family she has been assigned to
for the week.
She has been with FDR since its early years and her motto is -
"You have to smile at
life even when things bother you."
Pleasant and always
willing to assist, she enjoys traveling and experiencing different
excursions with her guest like trips to Dunn's River Falls and
Cranbrook Flower Forest. She finds pleasure in taking her "charges"
to see the birds and feed the fish feeding on the pier at FDR. Her
secret for quieting a sad child is singing to them and taking them
for a long walk on the beach.
Her inspiration and
delight are to welcome back the visiting families and seeing the
children that she has watched since they were infants develop into
beautiful young persons. |

I will start with the room. The
room was great as always everything was perfect upon getting to my
room. The staff is the most friendly. Everyone does whatever it
takes to ensure each person has a great time. Phyllis was our
nanny this trip and she was great with the kids. We know her from
our other visits but this was the first time having her as our
nanny. She is a terrific person, friendly, and the kids loved her.
Water aerobics with Donovan is great. He really motivates one
to get in the water and work out. Working out with him on my
vacations has carried over to my work out schedule at home now.
Rick is a pleasure at the restaurants. It is always nice to see
his smiling face when going to dinner. The food was great. I enjoyed
our meals at the Verandah as well as my dinners at the
Pier, Jamaican night and beach bbq night are favorites as
well. Michael started to eat much better on this trip than in the
past. Kervan and Q are great with adult entertainment.
They really now how to get someone into the event going on at the
time. Stacianne and the bar staff are great. Once they know
what you are drinking the usually have it ready and waiting for you.
The lifeguards at the pool were most helpful with having a
chair for me in the mornings. Dale is top-notch with kid
entertainment. Dale is a terrific guy, friendly, and great
with all the kids. He has that way of making the kids feel special.
Stacy from the spa is a wonder worker. I truly enjoyed my spa
services as always. I even treated Alyssa to her first spa
experience and she loved it. As with all our previous trips, we did
not want to leave. We always feel like we are home when we are with
our friends at FDR. We feel that FDR is our second home. If we could
live at FDR, I know we would.
I want to thank all for yet another great stay. We look forward to
our return in November. Please say hello to all from us and let them
know that we miss them and are thinking about everyone.

Stacy, Craig & Damion -
At the top of my list
this year concerning staff was Stacy. She is very professional
and always goes out of her way. Whenever it looked to her like I
needed a hand carrying drinks or food, she rushed out to lend a
hand. The two other standouts at the bar were Craig and Damion -
both very attentive, often getting drinks and re-fills before we
even had to ask.
Kayla, Sherry Ann & Charlton -
The breakfast staff was much
improved over last year. They learned our "routines" (such as plate
of burnt bacon & large glass of orange juice) and started providing
it before we even asked.
Andre -
I always love Andre at the
grill. He sometimes talks a lot, which sometimes gets him in
trouble, but he, above almost everyone else communicates with my
children, gives them nicknames and makes them feel comfortable.
Jermaine, the Lifeguard -
I also want to go out of my
way to compliment Jermaine, the Lifeguard. He gave my son, Alex,
swimming lessons and worked with him until he actually swam on his
own. He is delightful man, and my kids can't stop talking about him.

Coretta
(nanny), Dia, Tameka, Sophine, Anesha, Tanica,

The staff is amazing, always greetings
you with a smile.
This was our second time
having Coretta as our son's vacation nanny! Why? She's awesome!
She's our family away from home ... Tyrese wanted to go back to the
Resort the next week after coming back home just to be with her!
Coretta is very professional, yet friendly and always gives "service
with a smile!" She's a definite asset to the Resort as she goes
above her call of duty, making sure that you are always satisfied,
providing what we call her in Canada - "world class service!" Tyrese
always wanted to be with her and would not dare allow her to take
lunch breaks! We took advantage of the baby sitting at nights, which
enabled my fiancé and I to go out to dinner alone every night, which
was such a wonderful treat we don't often get back home.
We also had the opportunity of having Carmelina for the first
2 days of our vacation. She was also an excellent choice and was
very pleasant, helpful and knowledgeable! We loved her too and she
was a big help to us when we needed her most, getting prepared and
ready for our Engagement Party! If you are ever looking for a great
resort to take the family, FDR is the place to go - the staff will
treat you right!!

she is my nanny of choice. and a star among your
nannies. Older is sometimes better - she is caring, loving and
extremely capable. Her smile on seeing my grandchildren is the best
welcome we could ever receive.
Donovan Nelson - I had never met him in my prior visits.
He is professional, punctual (his greatest asset) and does an
excellent job. He is enthusiastic about his work, special thanks to
him for helping me to loose 6 pounds!
Kingsley, Kelly, Crawford - they
care of me during the passing of Hurricane Dean. They worked
tirelessly to protect us from falling trees, etc. Their gardner
skills are excellent.
The Dining Room Staff, Rick, Chrissy, Samantha - awesome,
especially to my relative Sheila who is disabled. They were so
willing to help her - thanks for finding the right size fish.
The Front Desk Staff & Resident Nurse- dealt courteously with
my many telephone calls from friends and relatives who were
concerned about our stay during the Hurricane - they were wonderful.

Carrie -
(the scuba trainer) loves her job and
it shows in her work. She is so kind and patient with her
instruction lessons and makes it an enjoyable experience for all
involved. My husband and son were both PADI certified on this visit
and my daughter had a great time on her initial dive. Last year she
was unable to complete her initial dive (Carrie really worked with
her this time) and she was so excited to be able to go diving with
her Dad, brother and friend.
Kwasi -
and the rest of the entertainment staff kept things hopping, with
something fun for everyone. The evening entertainment was great!
